Mitchell Spieth
School Counselor and Doctoral Candidate M.E.D [email protected] (916) 572-4387 Hello, my name is Mitchell and I am a clinical psychology doctoral student from Walden University. I am doing my practicum field experience in Dr. Di Lorenzo’s practice, where she provides me with direct supervision. I strive to enhance everyone’s special talents by listening and reflecting back what I truly hear. I see the client and therapist working effectively together when the relationship is built on trust and dialogue. I am sure you’d agree that life is full of challenges: work, school, social and interpersonal relationships, and past traumas to be dealt with. I am here to be your advocate, and to work with you by helping you aligning your strengths and values to focus your energy on what is most important to you. Theoretical Approach My approach is informed by psychoanalytic, object relations, person centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness approaches. I have begun training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) in Dr Di Lorenzo’s practice. I believe humans are dynamic beings, each having their own unique and personalized needs and approaches to therapy. Not one model works for everyone, therefore we will work together to find what best helps you. I believe there is strengths in all forms of therapy, as long as they apply to your particular situation and desired outcomes. It is important to understand the therapeutic relationship evolves overtime, thus we will engage in an ongoing dialogue of what works for you and what does not, and together we will openly monitor and discuss our therapeutic relationship and what is benefiting you in therapy. Background Experience I have many years of human relations and multicultural experiences including living in Italy, China, Kenya and the United States. I’ve had roles as a Peace Corps Volunteer, School Counselor and member of the military. I have worked with many different populations and in many areas, including all three levels as a school counselor: high school, middle and elementary. I feel comfortable working with all ages and look forward to working with you. |
Candice Simpson-Lentz
PA M.B.A, M, Psych Psychological Associate PSB94026886 Email Me (916) 741-2021 Hello, my name is Candice, and I am a pre-licensed therapist in Dr. Di Lorenzo’s practice, where she provides me with direct supervision. I pride myself in empowering people to become their best in life. Suppose you are an adult facing challenging life issues, marital problems, or experiencing the residual effects of complex past traumas. Maybe you are a minor having a hard time adjusting to life due to divorce, mental illness, or low self-esteem, or an older adult dealing with a change of life; I will help you by highlighting your strengths to equip you to deal with whatever life throws at you. I specialize in treating Anxiety, Depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Narcissism, and Substance Abuse. I believe that each person has a purpose in life and is uniquely gifted to positively influence their life and the world around them. So, if you are ready for a positive change in your life, I am your therapist; I look forward to hearing from you! Theoretical Approach I am informed by psychoanalytic, humanistic and person-centered approaches. I believe that thoughts are formed in the subconscious and that beliefs and actions are outcomes based on childhood experiences coupled with genetic expression. However, if I can help a client tap into their subconscious mind through Regression and Re-decision therapy, that clients can gain control over unwanted outcomes within their life. Also, through Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), in which I began training with Dr Di Lorenzo, I can help you assess, and effectively relate with, the thoughts and stories you hold about yourself as a consequence of having experienced traumatic or stressful events in your life. Background Experience Therapeutic Counseling “Therapy”-Two and a half years of practicum and internship experience. Educational teaching and Counseling- Five years trained, certified teacher and tutor from Pre-k to 12th grade, and learning adults in vocational school and college. Problem Resolution – Eight years of professional experience in work and domestic environments, foster care youth, and detention facilities. |
