INDIVIDUALIZED MINDFULNESS MEDITATION COACHING
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS MEDITATION?
You can think of it as mind training in the context of mind/body connection, self kindness and breath awareness. Mindfulness meditation has received great consensus in integrative health care (mental and physical), and is benefiting from strong research support as effective treatment contributor to a variety of ailments, including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and a variety of other human conditions.
WHAT CAN MINDFULNESS HELP ME WITH?
What you put your attention on, naturally grows. In the context of healing and wellness, simply learning how to redirect our attention through mindful breathing and other mind/body awareness techniques apparently holds significant, long-lasting benefits for your mental health and overall well-being. It is about taking the power back into your own hands, by using what nature already endowed you with (your mind, body, breath) as your best personal instruments to achieve serenity, calmness, wellness and self empowerment.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS INDIVIDUALIZED CLASS
In the best of my ability, I will structure a program that is effective for your mind/body/personality type, and the current issues you are facing in your life, by carefully considering and evaluating each of this aspects and their contribution to your life and current situation.
In this context, you will learn the basis of breathing-based mindfulness meditation, first, and then other mindful techniques that have been shown to help health and wellness, and become proficient enough to practice at home. In the case of anxiety and depression, where the mind is constantly projected into the future (anxiety) or mulling over the past (depression), with the unpleasant results of feeling tense and on edge, or sad, stuck and unmotivated, this practice can be of great help by helping you learn how to be in your body, rather than in your head, with presence and kindness.

CLASS OBJECTIVES
- Using your breath, you'll learn to meet your internal experience (meaning the ongoing flow of body sensations, feelings and thoughts) as it presents to you, make room for it, and observe what happens by developing your "Observer Self", that wiser aspect of you who watches without participating.
- By contacting the Observer Self, you will learn how to relate to your internal experience as to something that is part of you but is not you, something that you have, rather than you are. You will learn to sit with what is, without needing to modify, reject, avoid or somehow manipulate it. Think of a river bed, made of rock, and the water flowing in it. You are the bedrock, and the water is your internal experience.
- By practicing observing it, you will learn that you are not the flow of experience that is constantly coming and going within you, (the water) but rather, you are the much larger contextual system of body, mind, personality and spirit (the bedrock), within which that experiential current flows.
- This newly gained awareness will become the basis of more effective ways for you to relate to what happens within you as well as around you, especially in the context of your relationships. The goal is for you to be able to take healthier responsibility for your life choices and your experiences, fortify your sense of agency towards what you can control, and adopt a flexible approach to life, all of which relate to better mental health and deeper wellness.
